Start somewhere
“Andrew Yarovenko‘s Start Somewhere is a rich, multi-textured record. Yarovenko’s […] compositions draw on flamenco, electronic post-rock, chamber pop, and acoustic guitar explorations to create a unique, engaging collection [...] that remains hopeful in the midst of sorrow”

Tweens, horses, wild west adventure, somehow no racism despite the time and place it’s set in. Actually a really fun show by Dreamworks. Loosely based on Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron.
Smithsonian’s Drinks, Crime and Prohibition (they don’t support the Oxford Comma, I guess…)
I learned so much working on this project. Did you know that much of the prohibition movement was fueled by corporate interests exploiting anti-German hate and racism???
Willem Dafoe is kinda mean to a rambunctious puppy, but then they team up to save lives by delivering the dypyheria antitoxin serum. It’s basically Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, but Santa is grumpy, the reindeer are huskies, and the presents are “not dying.”
Got to have notes I wrote performed by Gabe Witcher of the Punch Brothers on it. Still reeling from the thrill.

CANNON BUSTERS Original Series Soundtrack
Cannon Busters! Soundtrack! Finally you can hear the full version of Regardless!
I’m not properly credited on this (yes, I’m bitter and I’ll say it in a googleable place), but I had a ton of fun performing, writing, arranging and engineering aspects of just about every song on this album and soundtrack.
OUT TO LUNCH - Sherbanski
Arranged strings, played synths, played guitar on this dynamic debut album by my day one homie, Sherbanski.
Album art by Ariana Dixon, who is just such a wonderful collage artist and photographer.

Andrew Yarovenko is an ongoing process whose variables are not yet fully understood.
He is also a Ukrainian-American Composer.
A lifelong musician, Andrew has worked in many genres and styles, blending new and exciting sounds with classical finesse. His compositions and productions can be heard in Disney’s “Togo,” Netflix’s “Cannon Busters,” Hallmark’s “Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses,” The Smithsonian’s “Drinks, Crime, Prohibition,” the web series “Wu-Tang In Space Eating Impossible Sliders,” Netflix and Dreamworks’ animated series “Spirit Riding Free,” and several independent short films.
Dedicated to pushing the boundaries of musical expression and how it is used to enhance the images it accompanies, Andrew above all seeks to use music to deeply connect an audience to the film's underlying emotion and intellect in ways that make it more enjoyable, more meaningful and more memorable.
Andrew is a classically trained flute player and multi-instrumentalist with extensive experience in recording engineering and music production. He graduated from Tufts University in 2016 with a BA in music. Several of his chamber works have been performed by the Tufts University New Music Ensemble.
Andrew comes from a family of doctors and therefore feels very humble about pursuing a career in the arts.

Instrument Design
The Sonic Pyramid
The Sonic Pyramid is an electronic musical instrument designed by Andrew Jarowenko, Michael Nuzzolo, Greg Bento, and Thomas Klimek.
It was originally envisioned as a collaborative "jam station" for three players with each controlling one face of the instrument, but it is also effective as an instrument for a single performer.
Harmony, effects and various other functions are controlled through a button matrix, while pitch and expression are controlled on pairs of pressure-sensitive circular touch strips.
More information about The Sonic Pyramid can be found at the Tufts EMID site.
The Yayguitar
The Yayguitar is an instrument designed and built by Andrew Jarowenko, Josh Brown, Sawyer Mclaughlin, and Matt McDonald.
The Yayguitar consists of two strings coupled respectively to springs which are in turn coupled to two resonating chambers. This combination results in a massive, echoey reverb and wild brittle harmonics reminiscent of sul ponticello cello.
It is heavily inspired by Görkem Sen's Yaybahar, packing much of the Yaybahar's acoustic madness into a smaller and more portable form factor. The Yayguitar is well suited to horror movie scores and vast, contemplative soundscapes.
